driveshaft length

I'm wanting to drop off my driveshaft so I can get a new tube and I'm wondering is any of you know how much I need to trim off the driveshaft to use with an 8.2 rear end? ...or do I need to take any off..

8.2 as in late '60s/early '70s 10-bolt?

All I know is that I'd measure it myself just to be absolutely sure...

it's out of a 67 chevelle and JBreu helped me out with my question. The driveshaft length doesn't change and i just need the conversion u-joint.
