Driveshaft Stuck in 86 Cutlass

I have only seen a problem like yours once before, that was when someone installed a GN rear (8.5) into a G-body without cutting the driveshaft.
I am sure that happens more often than we hear about.

I am thinking your BFH just isn't big enough.

Yeah, maybe.....

I used the heaviest hammer I had, which honestly probably wasnt all that heavy of a sledge hammer. Nor do I have it in a position where I could take the best swing at it either.

Do you have the back of the car as high as possible?

Right now, its still sitting on the wheels in the back. Its on stands in the front...

I have had a few that I will say were mildly stuck and I just jacked up the rear of the car and used an old tire iron as my pry bar and whacked that good a few times with a hammer and they broke loose.

Is the thought that jacking up the car takes pressure off of the rear end, so it might make it more likely to break free?

Basically it just gives you more room to work and pry and hammer, plus you can spin the rearend and pry in different spots and angles.
