Dual Exhaust rear exit?

If your car is lowered, rear exit pipes will result in smashed tips once you find a nice steep driveway.

On an SS, the front end is much more of a concern when lowered. As long as you take them on an angle, you can get in/out of some pretty steep entrances/driveways fine.

i really still cant get my mind off of the classic rear exit under the bumper, but i also kinda really like the look of behind the tires. good pics guys, but keep the tire exits pics coming.

I have rear exit and like the position, but hate the actual pipes I have. The stainless portion is not long enough and there is an unsightly weld visible where it joins the rest of the exhaust.

Well, I prefer the side exit, but have had both. Here's my old '87 Monte with side exit.

And here's my current with rear exit.

Stock '69 grand prix tailpipes. They have a turndown on the end rather than just straight out, hung directly under the frame. One side sticks down at a slightly different angle than the other  needs more adjustment. Wish I had a better picture! Click on this one for the full size

one of these days I'll get a proper dual setup under there. Had to replace the rusted out mufflers and did the tailpipes at the same time (replaced with the same kind) on the cheap. The downpipes were custom bent a long time ago and are still holding up.

i like 'em out behind the tires, but then again, i don't like the look/sound of radical exhaust. i'll be going with side turnouts with no chrome tips.
i want the focus to be on my car, not on my exhaust.
if i didn't plan on driving it regularly, i'd probably go with the old camaro style, where it dumps out just behind the axle.
