i bet GM wish they had all there NOS parts still, they could make a bundle nowadays selling to restorers who want original GM stuff.
sometime around 1997/1998 I got a call from a buddy who worked for GM, he said that many dealers were going to clean out old inventory and would eventually be getting rid of many old NOS parts. I think he said some of the dealers were going to sell the parts in large chunks to other companies—I don't recall exactly.

Needless to say, I drove with him around several NY/NJ area dealers and I grabbed many, many NOS parts for the G-bodies, mainly Grand National and 442 stuff.

I got a few sets of 442 rims, tons of 442 centercaps, a NOS gray Cutlass dashpad are a few I recall. (the dual snorkel air cleaner was not in stock at the time)/

I also focused on GN-related trim pieces, emblems etc. I ended up unloading all of the GN stuff and a few of the NOS rims a few years ago.

I got one off of a 50,000 mile Utah "Cash for Clunker'd" 1986 442 with complete inlet duct and vacuum hose system (but what appears to be a generic rusty air cleaner off of a SBC of the era). It is mint. Does not need to be repainted, no scratches/dings, and the inlet duct looks like it is NOS. The sticker is not even lifting at the edges. I paid $75 and thought I was paying too much. For all that they are, I don't think it is worth it to pay too much for one. It would not be too hard to just make one, especially if you are not using the emissions equipment.

Look on Ebay for Camaro H.O. dual air cleaner there is one in mint condition and all the parts for 800  Imagine what they would ask if the economy was good!!

Well I'm looking for one in mint condition with the emissions decal for a concours restoration on an 87 442 so 86-87 will work since they used the same drivelines. I'll also consider an 83 unit or an 84-85 unit as well as long as that damn little sticker and paint are awesome. I'm not critical on the lid but the charcoal filter must still be there as well.
Have nice stuff to trade, NOS and used.

I looked at the dual-snorkel breather on my '87 442, which, unfortunately, isn't mint (has some surface rust on the breather and lid, but still has the black stripe...looks like i can restore it with some care). I found a sticker on the front with the letters "OG", and a bar code. The sticker is in fair shape (lifted a little bit), but I think I can save it. Is this the emissions sticker you are talking about?

I will try here soon. There is one small triangular notch (about an 1/8 of an inch or less) that is missing from the bar code. I don't know if that is a problem or not.
