Dear friends,
I have this E4MC quadrajet on my 307 and while I was disassembling it, the Solenoid Adjuting Screw did not turn and never came out too. So I took it to a lathe shop and he finally managed to pull it out. To our horror, it was flattened at the bottom and pushed in, damaging the threads!! So what we did was re-tapping the hole with threads and getting a suitable bolt that fits to it.
Now by turning that threaded bolt, I expect to adjust the solenoid movement limits.
Now my question is this. Before assembling the top (air horn), I would like to know whether the screw I have found has the correct length so that it allows the full displacement for the solenoid plunger. Simply put, I would like to know the minimum to maximum movement allowed by the screw for the solenoid's plunger. Thanks in advance
