Then get it sooner than later, and gut the CCC stuff out the distributor. The 2 pickup leads in the base go to the purple/green pickup leads on the MSD. It's in the destructions.....
I am the type of guy that will give Chinesium a chance if it won't destroy anything in the process. I have one of those eBay HEI distributors on my Bonneville and my El Camino. The ones I received had nice machining and decent quality cap and rotors installed. Shaft endplay was good, and they both came with adjustible vacuum advance cans.
I haven't had any issues with either one, other than one of the ignition modules was a little grumpy when it is below freezing. A quick swap with my old distributor seemed to cure that issue.
Overall not perfect, but $50 for a complete working distributor makes it well worth it to me.
I wouldn't be surprised if the cheap ones Summit and Jegs carry for $89 are the same ones many sell on Ebay for under $50 but people are willing to pay more from a place they can trust and you can't argue with Summit's return policy but sometimes you have to try something different.
An example, I used to buy all of my AN fittings from Summit and Jegs I have used Russel and Aerquipe but would run Earls swivel seal exclusively even though the Earls always sealed good the anodizing would fade over time and for the price they cost I thought they should last so I looked around and tried a few Ebay brands until I found one that i felt was better quality and under 60% of the Earls price plus they look nicer and I have saved hundreds of dollars over the 10 years I have been using them with absolutely zero issues.
Sometimes you get more than you pay for.
I have one in my 88. I used an Accel Supercoil and Ignitor 3 module but the stock module did start and run. The weights and advance mechanism look top quality. It has a fairly quick advance curve and seems good so far.
I just kinda got lucky by getting an old Mallory HEI that arrived today. I almost grabbed one of those Ebay specials but backed away as I found out my show special Proform was a poor fitting bootleg, it had an 1/8" gap above the intake with play in the shaft! From fear I went used & it fits properly.
