I am too tired to write a lengthy post on it here, but the house passed the economic pork...err stimulus package today. I'll write more tomorrow, but I am disgusted by what was in this bill, including provisions for nationalizing the health care system, and so much pork that it is just shocking. It's the beginning of the end for our economy. We can't just print money to pay for this without it ruining the value of the dollar, and the same goes for borrowing money too. Most of it looks to be going to pay off special interest groups that helped give the Dems the election rather than anything that will help the average American. All I have to say is, well, the American people are about to see just what a cluster**** they voted for. I hope they're happy because I sure am not.

Oh, believe me. This is what I feared from the left. I have already head of the detention centers, and I fear I will soon know what it felt like to be Japanese and living on the West coast in 1942. Too much power has been given to the government to spy on it's citizens, and it has already been abused. Will the 2010 census data be used to find those with religious beliefs not in line with the current administration, like what happened to the Jews in Germany? I personally don't like that religion is a question asked on the census. I also don't like domestic spying on internet and telephone communications by the NSA. Having had some "odd" experiences a few years back after some unusual conversations I had on the phone (as well as the person I was talking to), I fear just how much data is being collected on the free thinkers, intellectuals and dissidents in this country. When you have unmarked cars with blacked out windows parked in front of your house for a few months, and the houses on either side of you are unoccupied, it tends to make you a bit paranoid!

All makes perfect sense really. They have to bring America "down" to the status of other nations before a one world economy/government can be ushered in. That means on an economic level we have to "loose" our wealth and from a freedom aspect we have to be more "controlled".

IMO this is what you will see in the next 5 to 10 years in America:

1. De-arming of the American public
2. De-valuing of our economy
3. "Reform" of social and political powers
4. De-valuing or outright restriction of religious beliefs
5. "Detainment" of peoples that are at "risk" to the public

Yeah ... get ready for the SHTF situation.

It's ironic youre concerned about the debt. Bush spent one hell of alot more on Iraq....and all borrowed money.

That is a war, not needles spending on domestic social programs and adding to the overall size of government. If the money was being spent on infrastructure improvements I would not be as pissed as I am about some of the other things that are being funded which are not investments in long term growth. Condoms? Really? That's economic stimulus? Yes it was dropped, but it is indicative of the sort of crap that is in the bill. Plus, it will take up to 4 years for the money to be fully spent by which time the recession would have ended anyways. The estimated cost per job created is $217,000- for a job that pays less than $50k. That's irresponsible. I would also add where is the money going to come from to pay for all this nonsense and push the economy once it dries up? Will we need to "stimulate" the economy in perpetuity? This will be an epic failure greater than that of FDR.

Now you know how I felt for the last eight years...helpless. All I can say is "We won, see you in eight years".

Are we even going to have the United States left in eight years? I think jonnyslick was right with his list above. The de-valuing of our economy is already under way, thanks to everyone who voted for change. De-arming the American public will be a problem though, as there are too many of us with guns who will not give them up. As for religion, they need to leave it alone. It does not belong on the census. Have they ever heard of seperation of church and state? Or the Constitution? I see the "detainment" of people to be the biggest and the most real threat on the list. Stop and control anyone that doesn't see things their way or follow the rest of the sheep and do what they are told.

I have thought about not answering the religion question on the census, or giving a false answer like "Jedi Knight" as is popular in England, but it's a sticky thing doctrinally for me as a Christian due to a certain passage in scripture. I hope it is not used against me, but I fear also that my internet postings could be as well. It's amazing how things posted or written can be taken out of context by a government looking to "neutralize" a perceived threat to power. I do not own a gun now, nor have I ever done so. However, I feel I should consider it soon before I no longer can. I also don't like the crush all old cars type provision in the "stimulus" bill. Even if it is not compulsory, the loss of spare parts will quickly remove old cars like ours from the roads as they depend on used parts.

BTW, Separation of Church and State is NOT in the Constitution. It is in a letter written by Jefferson.
