Well, all I can say is it's not going to be 8 years of power for the Democrats if they continue the way they are going. It will be two years of controlling both houses and maybe 4 years of the Presidency. That is, unless they are successful in their attempt to silence the free speech rights of their political opposition on talk radio and cable news. Government imposed fairness is always inherently unfair because the administration of it is always political. Dirty tricks abound to silence the speech of those that certain groups do not like by using expensive bureaucratic techniques to make stations kill their talk format because it is not worth the hassle. When that happens, I will get satellite radio, but then the left will move to silence that medium too. I fear now that the very speech that should be MOST protected will be silenced: political speech. After all, the left in this country has bad history when it comes to basic civil rights.

I agree that we are destined for failure. I believe it will come from within like it has from many others who have come before us. Too many people are content with easy answers and fail to understand the complex questions those answers raise. Therefore, they believe the government can spend infinite amounts of money and there will never be a day when it stops. Unfortunately, too few of us are students of history. Those who are realize that this has been tried before and every single time it has led to the downfall of that countries economy, if not the country itself. The government cannot provide a good life for all it's people, it can only at best ensure that the misery is equal among people and hope that they don't notice that their lives stink. This is why banning guns is important. Once it goes too far, guns are the means of a new revolution against a tyrannical socialist state. I just hope I am wrong and that does not become necessary, but I worry that it is inevitable with people like Barack Obama in office. My only hope is that he realizes the errors in his way of thinking and turns into a more moderate politician. Maybe more of a Jimmy Carter than the Leon Trotsky that he is now. Then all we have to do is wait out the 4 years of malaise until the next Regan appears on the scene to save us all.


BTW, the British government is on the verge of bankruptcy now. All that European Socialism did them a lot of good, huh?

I was having this conversation with a friend of mine the other day. My big question is if the Bush name is too tarnished to work right now. I like Jeb better than GW, but I was not as completely disgusted with GW as I am with Obama right now. GW was a pragmatist in a number of ways, but I believe he genuinely loves his country. I can't say the same of Obama. In Obama and the current Congressional leadership I fear a tyranny of the majority as they do what they deem necessary to cling to power.

I happen to be of the opinion that we will start having to pay the price of all the decades of deficit spending on any number of useless programs very soon. You can't continue to run a nation by spending more than you take in in perpetuity. Eventually, the credit runs out, and I fear that eventually is now.

Yes, the Bush name is tarnished right now, but the public has a short memory, and they like something that's familiar, so a Jeb Bush can be sold to the general population in 4 years.

Bush was a Globalist puppet of the NWO just as much as Obama's going to be. They just are threats on different fronts.. where Bush killed off our liberties with domestic spying and the Patriot Act, Obama will get his in with a civilian task force and outright gun restrictions and bans.

But they are both similar in the fact they grew or will grow the size and power of central government and are killing the value of our currency by printing and spending into record deficits.
