Edelbrock carb aggrivating me. Any ideas?

Check the filter and check your needle and seat, sounds like a bit of crud is holding it open.

Just to make sure I know for sure what you're talking about... The needle seat is the little brass piece with the rubber tip, that holds the floats at the right level? I'm not really a carb rebuilder. haha.

Pull the 2 idle adjustment screws out of the front and blow compressed air or carb cleaner in the holes.

Yes, usually all you need to do is pull the fuel line/filter off to squirt some carb cleaner in and that will clean up the needle/seat. Also do as blk74nova said and blow out the idle screws.
