I got an Edelbrock carb from the junk yard for 50 bucks off a montecarlo ss with a stock chevy 350 so i figure the carb is a 600 cfm. So i put it on my regal with a 307 olds engine and i cant get it to run right when i turn on the car i have to always spray carb cleaner or put gas in the carb to turn my car on. And when the motor is runing and i put it in drive or reverse it almost wants to turn off or it does. And if it runs decent while im driving i can hear the motor always reving back up to kept the motor from turning off. Ive adjusted the carb but still cant get it to run as good as my quadrajet carb. Should i try to get some one else to try tuning it or get it rebuilt.

What yr is the car? Sounds like it may have been a ccc qjet. If so you might need a dist from an earlier yr thats not run by the computer, or swap the qjet back on.

It has an older distibutor from a 350 olds thats came off a 73 and a quadrajet off a 1967 camaro and the car ran good but wanted to see if the edelbrock carb would help my car take off a little faster.

Can you post up some numbers off of the AFB, so we know exactly which one?
