Yep. At a minimum, back off the idle speed screw all the way. For complete confirmation, pull the carb and set them right.

when i was using a edelbrock carb i had to have a fuel regulator set at between 3-4psi for it to even run anymore it wouldnt work right and flood.

Yes I’m going to try that before I buy something new. I have a feeling that’s probably it. It’s a brand new mechanical fuel pump and I’m certain it’s going to be doing more that 4psi. I’ve been lazy and haven’t worked on it for a minute though.
