edelbrock performer mod?

I have an edelbrock performer intake, number 2101 and i heard you can modify them to fit vortec heads? has anyone heard about this?
 
IIRC you just drill the 4 center bolts to the correct bolt angle.

Summit and jegs sell angled washers so the bolt head sits flat
