Well here we go again is anyone looking for a Monte Carlo to build a stock car? I have one that is taking up space and it is going bye-bye! This car currently has a Tuned Port Injected Corvette engine in it once I get around to pulling my engine and transmission and some of the other things off I have decided to keep it will be ready to be transformed into a stock car! I am tired of the lowballers trying to get this car for nothing so I am going to personally see that it never again hits the street. The car is going to be sold with the understanding that it will be a dirt track car only No title! Email me and let me know what you are willing to give for it, it was a really nice car at one time it has been sitting for a while. I am keeping the entire interior windshield and other glass, not to mention the wiring harness and computer so my engine setup is complete to put in my next project. You will basically be getting the shell which is in very good shape if no takers it will become crusher food soon!

Typical of someone who thinks everything they own is the total sh*t and gets mad when the marketplace reality hits them square in the face. Just because something is cool doesn't mean it has a lot of value. The sad thing is that he thinks he is getting revenge on people who like these cars when the only one who will really care is him. After all, a TPI 350 from a Corvette is not very powerful, and it is antiquated technology. Plus, who's to say that the car was not a total hack job with the minimum necessary to get it running? People probably offered him fair market for what he built, which could range from $2500-$7,000 depending on the quality of the work and how well sorted everything was. He probably thought he was going to get $10-15k for it. This is also a bad market to sell a toy in as many others are also liquidating their toys at the same time.

i actually read that add on craigslist a couple days ago i think. yeah i thaught it was funny how he thinks parting the thing out and selling it with no people will piss the people off that wanted it. my guess is it was junk and no one wanted to pay him a ton of money that he thaught it should be worth.

^^ I agree with brougham, it wasn't worth what he wanted for it.

And if you really did want to make it street legal, all you'd need is seatbelts, lights, and a horn.

Craigslist is where people go to list their crap for double the market value. If he were afraid of the low ballers he should have put it on ebay for a real eye opener. The economy sucks. Anyone get Hemmings Muscle Machines? They just listed an SS Chevelle as having sold for $200,000+, The kicker is the seller bought it less than 2 years ago for over a MILLION! Ouch. :blam:

Before we raced with out current car we use to race with metrics. The cars we bought to use were mostly nothing you'd want for the street but they did come complete. We'd sell off what we could to help fund racing, beer and wings (not always in that order) and had a frustrating time with people who wanted parts but complained about the shipping costs or they just never showed to pick parts up. At times they showed up they try to bargain for a lower price even after we had agreed to a price. We even had some cars that were in good shape and if we had titles to them we'd fix and sell and had the same problems with those cars. Maybe a used car salesman can handle that crap but I can understand that guys frustration, unless of course if he had unreasonable expectations

still no reason to say in your ad that you are gonna make sure its never on the raod again, telling people hey i have a solid car but cause a couple of guys low balled me on prices (in a bad economy) i am gonna make sure the car is gutted and even refuses to sell it with a title to make sure its never on the road again? screw that! he is a g body assasin!

he says it but I'm sure if you contacted him and if the car was in good shape and you offered a reasonable amount a deal could be struck...I've had times when we were selling off parts I would have trashed a part before I sold it after dealing with some idiots..they can really make life miserable hounding you...

There's guys that do sh*t like that with just about every car.... Hell we even had a guy get pissed off at my dad when he asked dad what his old John Deere was worth to him... Dad said $250 (wasn't much there, eninge was stuck, etc)... The guy got all pissed off and said for that he'd take it to the scrap yard.... So he did and got $45 for it according to the guy that ran the place... Dad's happy though... That just made his tractor even rarer because there's one less....

People are always going to be like that... They get pissed because it's not worth what it is to them to you... So they destroy it to piss you off... My veiw, if you want to get pissed off and throw away money to piss me off go for it... But you'll fail because it won't bother me in the least...
