thanks for all the info man, I've had quite a few vehicles so far but my cutlass and my el co are my only 2 g-bodies so far, and I've enjoyed sliding both of them around in the snow lol

Towing with an Elco or any Gbody for that matter is not recommended without upgrades. The 305 should be up to the task, just think of all the 305 Powered 1/2 tonne trucks out there.
However when pulling a trailer with a gbody its the suspension and most importantly the brakes that are not up to the task. Airshocks, cargo springs, trans cooler & Front brake upgrade would be the first 4 things on my list.
