Electric Fans & Wiring ... Advice Needed

I got a fan controller from Advance. It has outputs for 2 fans(orange and blue), so I wired the orange wire to the yellow of one fan, and the blue wire to the yellow wire of the other fan grounded the blacks together, and capped off the green wires. Seems to keep the temp right. If I run into a problem I'll run another relay at a higher temp and send power to the 2 capped off greens.

Had to get this off my chest...they pimped me at the junkyard. They charged me for 2 electric fans, a fan shroud, and some 2 fan c's(whatever that is). For the tune of $49. I feel like I've been raped. :?

I paid less for mine, like 25. I am going to get the wiring done once i get a adjustable fan temp switch. I tried using the low setting with a temp switch but but it turn the fans on at 200 degrees. What fan controller are you using?

I paid $30 for my Thunderbird/Mark VIII fan. Thought it was kinda dumb to charge that much but all well.

My fan has a high/low setting, even though it's a single fan. I'm taking the two wires that control the high and low setting and putting a male end on them, and a female end on the power wire. That way if the high speed setting is too much, I can simply unplug and plug the low setting and be on my way without spending more time cutting and splicing wires again.

Hi Everyone,

Dont mean to hijack the tread, but i'm looking to do this dual fan installation sense my local wrecking yard is having a 50% off this up comming weekend. I already have a 16" single fan that can be set up to push or pull.

My questions is; would it be over kill if i set the 16" fan to push, and the dual to pull?

That would be overkill. You may end up hurting yourself in the long run cause the puller fan could interfere with how effective the pusher fan is and vice versa. The dual fans should be plenty to keep your setup cool.

Ditto on that, my Intrepid fans are wired on low and they pull quite a bit a air, and a lot more on high. I would just make sure your alternator is up to the task and you get a proper controller. I cheaped out and got a bunch of temp switches and installed on that turns "on" at 200 degrees. Oh well i am going to get a adjustable controller soon.

Regarding controllers. Any recommendations as to what brands, etc.? Also, do the dual F-body fans pretty much function like the Intrepid fans? One fan comes on when it reaches a certain temp setting, both fans come on with A/C turned on, etc.?
I would like to go with an adjustable controller and a temp sensor in the thermostat housing or cylinder head.

Advance Auto had the controller, not sure the name brand. They were back by the fans and transmission coolers. They had set temp and adjustable temp controllers. The one I got was a set at 185, I think. Keeps engine temps around 210 or so.
