Energy Suspension bushings, too tall?

I recently replaced the body bushings in my 442 with Energy poly bushings and it seems like it could sit a little lower on the frame. I'd say at least a 1/2" gap everywhere I checked. The bushings have mold lines around them in about 1/4" increments. Anyone ever cut them down to lower the body on the frame? Or is that a bad idea? I will call them before I try this, but I thought I'd see if anyone here has done it. I thought I read a topic here about it long ago, but no luck finding it back.
