I bought a set of front and rear sway bars off ebay a month ago and I'm finally gonna put them on, I'm still waiting on the rear sway bar spacers i bought, but I have the Energy suspension endlinks in red and I'm looking to get the red poly bushings for my 1 1/4 front sway bar, but after looking on the Jegs site, I can't figure out which ones to get, it's confusing or I'm just thinking to much of it...I went to the local advance auto parts store and they had some Universal greasable Energy Suspension 1 1/4 red bushings, and I bought them, but when I compared them to the stock rubber ones the bars came with, the poly bushings were smaller in thickness, is that just the difference between the factory rubber pieces and the new polyurethane ones? can anyone shed some light

My poly ones that came with my sway bar came with new brackets and they fit snug

Hey man, good to see you again.

I had the same issue with my front sway bar when I received a kit to rebuild the front end of my car. It should not be completely tight to the point where you cant get the bushing itself back in the metal bracket that holds it. If you cannot get the bushing back in, then they sent you the wrong ones. It should be a little tight, but when I tried to put my bushings on the first time, there was about a half inch gap in the bushing and I couldn't get it back in the bracket.

I'm running a monte carlo aerocoupe rear sway bar that simply bolts into the lower trail arms, so no bushings there.

I used the same greaseable 1-1/4" poly bushing and bracket on my El Camino with a '79 Trans Am WS6 bar and they worked fine. On my Cutlass I used the blue Moog rubber with an F41 bar and it also worked fine. You must use the corresponding "strap" (bracket) for the bar because or the bushing thickness. The bolt heads will need to be smaller too. Small bar bracket and bolt on the left, F41/WS6 on the right. Notice that the hole is closer to the bushing on the fat bar bracket.

so those universal 1 1/4 bushings will work? they are so much thinner than the factory rubber ones. the bars I have are from a '84 Hurst/Olds and the sway bar bushing brackets came with it as well as I'm assuming the original rubber bushings, which appear to be in great shape, but I just want the red ones to match the rest of the red Energy susupension parts
