My L92 truck intake (87mm TB Escalade) is slightly uglier in stock form than the run of the mill 5.3 or 6.0 truck intake. After shaving the ugly ribs and removing unused ports and bosses it really looks good. I don't plan on using a cover. BTW> If you choose to go this route buy yourself a Harbor Fright multi purpose tool with bi metal blade. It works great for removing those ribs.

Harbor Freight. LOL. I cant buy there, Im a Matco Tools Dealer.

You know those sanded ones don't look half Anubis any chance you have a pic from the side or top of the motor.

Here are a few more pics. Note that I did not cut holes into the outer shell. Some write ups on LS1tech.com show people doing this then gluing or melting nylon plastic back in from a spatula 😱 Seemed half assed to me but to each their own.

Before mods...Nice low mileage intake (sorry...its upside down)

After an attack with the Harbor Fright multi tool and some sanding.

You might know this already but the LS truck intakes develop more torque on the dyno than their car counterparts. They even outperform some of the aftermarket offerings.
