Are there any products you guys have used for shining up the inner fenders, hoses, heater box, ect?

I had a summer job at a detail shop 20 years ago and we sprayed a solution all over the engine compartments. It was slimy and gross. That's not what I want. I also don't like ArmorAll on anything. Suggestions?

I used no touch tire shine. Sprayed it on and then wiped it with a rag, wasent greasy and lasted a while. I cant remember the brand but it worked great.

Also used SOS pads to clean up the washe bottle and overflow resovoir, came out good as new

The No-Touch tire stuff is actually a great suggestion. There are several companies that have similar products like that. Any idea which would have the lowest gloss? Are they all silicone based? I'd prefer not to contaminate my car for any future painting projects.

Meguiar's has a few OTC products that protect well, but don't have that greasy shine. Ultimate Protectant or Ultimate Black (same product-different label) is their most durable. Natural Shine is their lowest-gloss interior product, adding protection but virtually no added shine. Another lower-gloss favorite of the detailing forums is 303 Aerospace protectant, often available at NAPA stores. One of the most durable low-gloss products is Ultima Tire and Trim Guard. It's my preferred product, as it lasts much longer than anything else I've ever tried and again is a very low-gloss finish. However, it's only available through the specialty detail supply vendors such as AutoGeek or Autoality.
