The Oil and the Choke use the same dash light.
Since oil pressure doesn't seem to be the culprit, try checking your choke to see it's operating correctly...

What's your pressure when it's good and hot?

This is an old thread but I finally got around to replacing my oil pump today and I am happy to say that it fixed the problem. It took me about 6 hours to do the whole job.

The old oil pump had a very tiny amount of slop and that was enough to drop the oil pressure below what is required to turn on the engine light.

Tomorrow I install a new EGR valve. 🙂
