this may sound a little stupid, but im mostly a chevy guy. and I was thinking about doing a grand national engine swap into my 1985 el camino. I was wondering if I can use the turbo buick intake manifold and put it on a chevy 4.3 or does it have to be the buick 3.8? also I know finding a complete engine would be a hard find, but im sure i can get a hold of manifold and wiring, but will any g-body buick 3.8 work or was the grand national a special engine? thanks for any comments

No you can't use the Buick 3.8 intake manifold on a Chevy 4.3. Yes the turbo engines had a special block but I can't remember the designation. Although the blocks were used in a few different cars / engines that can be found in a junkyard. One that I know of is the Buick 4.1. Best bet would be to buy a complete turbo Buick engine used but ready to go. If you are asking questions like will the 3.8 manifold fit on a 4.3 you have too much learning curve ahead of you to do a piece meal salvage yards parts and build it yourself. The best easiest place to find a complete engine with turbo etc might be turbobuicks.com or turbobuick.com . Another option would be a turbo 4.3 setup like what came in the cyclone / typhoon trucks. But I don't know much about those.
