You can "waller" out the center holes in your intake to bolt it to the newer style center bolt heads

The link that MonteOlrac put in his post does show an intake manifold that should work for you. Its not really a "Vortec" style intake though. The Vortec intake would be used with cylinder heads that were manufactured from 1996 & up. The '96 & newer heads don't have center mounting holes for an earlier style intake manifold, they just have mounting holes at the ends of the cylinder heads.
One other thing that I thought of to check on the '89 350 engine. Check to see if the engine block has the provision for the mechanical fuel pump from the '79 305. Some of the later engine blocks that were manufactured for fuel-injected applications had the fuel pump mounting boss area "cast in". The holes to bolt the mechanical fuel pump cover plate and fuel pump were never drilled & tapped for the mounting bolts, and the hole for the mechanical fuel pump push rod was never drilled in the block, as these blocks were only meant for a fuel-injected application. If the engine was replaced at some time under warranty, it might have a replacement block which will accept a mechanical fuel pump. Hope this helps.

The only point that I was trying to make earlier, is that a true Vortec style intake manifold will not fit the original style cylinder heads for a 1989 small block engine. The bolt mounting patterns and angles are different between the 1989 heads and 1996 & newer heads.
MonteOlrac, your first post with the link to the Summit site is correct and accurate. I'm not trying to start any kind of dispute-all I'm trying to do is to keep things as clear as possible.

So what should I do? Because the 350 is really nice and runs strong. Should I get it and change the intake, carb and disturber or should I stick with the 305?

The choice is yours-its your car (truck). All anyone here can do is to try to help if you're having a problem, or offer up an opinion. In the end, its up to you.

Thanks for all the advice. I'm just gonna get the 350 and change the intake, carb, and disturber. If I run into any iuss I'll be back on here. On I also wanted to know. What transmission is better for a 350? A 350 or a 700r4?

Overdrive is nice if you drive your car alot, but they both are pretty good...I would go with the 700r4
