Doing a engine swap on my 86 Cutty, I live in canada so it came with the SBC 305 and Iam putting a SBO 350, has anyone done this swap? and can anyone give me some advice on the swap, like what iam going to need and etc..

Should need Olds motor mounts. Might need to route the fuel lines to the opposite side and alternator on opposite side. Olds fuel pump is on the passenger side and alternator on the driver's side.

I'm doing a swap right now from Olds 307 to Chevy 350 TPI and I have to switch the same things, plus more.

It really depends on what you have, a complete donor car with running engine or a bare engine? You have to use all the olds bracketry and pulleys (matched), along with the olds fan iirc (switched to electric years ago), frame mounts will be needed, there is a left and a right, engine mounts can be had cheap at any parts house. You have your exhaust to think of, whether you go headers or manifolds, the ch*vy Y won't work. No need to move fuel lines, they are already in the right spot. Do you have a universal bell trans? If not that will be another issue you'll have to solve (whether adapter or different trans). Your harness will need to be shortened, (or get one from an olds powered car). Straight forward swap though, good luck.

Hey thakns for the advice! here is what i have, I have the Olds 350 engine and transmission, bought it from a guy who said it came out of a running cutlass eveyrthing looks good on her... I decided to go with Headers from summit had to get a smaller filter and the smaller gear reduction starter is on its way, the old starter was too big.. I have the frame mounts from a delta 88 but they are not left and right (didnt know but know I do thanks!!) the right frame mounts are on the way from Vintage parts... also the Alternator on this engine came on the passengers side..

Also which holes do I use on the frame, for the mounts can you let me know thanks...
ummm one more thing the powerstreeing pump from the SBC 305 should fit on the Olds 350 with the Olds brackets right?
also would I have to shorten the driveshaft at all for this swap?

P.S. its my first swap thanks for all the help much apreciated!

The PS pump should fit, check the pulley alignment when installed. A short shaft TH350 should bolt right in, just have move the cross member if it had a 2004r. Most, if not all 2004r are dual pattern. I just welded the Olds frame mounts on my 78 former sbc 1/2 ton. Modified the sbc mounts on the 94 4x4. I am betting the frame mounts will probably only line up one way. That is a reason I bought an 88, only 307 equipped and liked the Euro front and factory aluminum rims too.

If the car is gonna have A/C then the alternator will have to be on the drivers side, but otherwise, it can stay on the passengers side but you will have to run wires over the engine bay from the battery on the drivers side. I plan to add A/C later to my SBO swap so I am gonna move the alternator to the drivers side, but it will work on both.

heres a link to show the frame mount locations...and have fun installing these bolts...a royal pain in the butt~!!
