Engine swap while retaining A/C, cruise and lockup

The ECM is on its own separate harness. It has nothing to do with the Cruise or AC function. Lockup can be achieved with a simple toggle switch or via an aftermarket kit ( which usually involves dropping the pan )
It appears the cruise and a/c run through the ECM via the speed buffer and fast ideal relay respectively. Perhaps these are basically just "power-only" circuits (fast idle relay appears to shut off a/c at WOT).

perhaps you are correct. I removed the CCC, ecm, complete harness and related sensors many years back.
I still have the use of the AC but I notice the solenoid does not engage to increase rpm with the AC on.
Cruise function I cannot verify as when I removed the CCC I also swapped motors and did not bother trying to get it to work with the holley carb. Although it is on my to-do list now that I have the qjet back in the car.

link gives a pretty good explanation of the CCC system

Yes this. It works on a ground so it's just grounding out. Very simple.
