Its truly a shame that some people would rather let something rot away or become ruined, than sell it to someone who wants to save it 🙁
Very true. There is a garage in Indiana, Pa that has a '65 Chevelle 2 door wagon sitting in the dirt inder junk. I just asked a general question on it to find out if it was a 2 door & the owner went into the whole thing about it's not for sale, he has had it since he was in his 20's (in his late 50's/early 60's now), he is going to redo it, how much he has been offered, etc... Like the rest of the junk there, that wagon will head off to scrap when the place closes & needs cleaned up. Bad thing was I wasn't even going to ask if it was for sale.

Yeah for sure, things like that, or I should say "people like that" drive you crazy, whatever self rational they come up with to justify keeping something that will never come to light. Or the ones that think that the car is worth $800,000.00, as your looking at whats left of it, as the windshield, antenna, and a steering wheel lay in a heap of rust powder lol

There is a recycling yard 5 miles from me, sort of in the woods an not really known for selling parts to the public, has to be at least 25 acres plus in size. You need to know someone to get into the lot. It's my go to place!!

What they do there is sell cores to the big shops for rebuilding, carbs, power steering pumps, engines, transmission an so on.

So there can be an is perfect bodies, interior on car going back to the 60's. And there just waiting to rust into the ground. There has to be 30 plus G-bodies, it's somewhat sad!!!

Meh, people are funny. Some are in the, "I'm gunna reeestore that sumday" crowd. Some just don't care because old cars are just old junk they haven't gotten around to disposing of yet.
One of these days I'm going to drive around my little podunk town and snap some pics of the stuff just rotting away. I'd be shocked if 5% ever gets "saved" or sold.
Good luck. People around here won't let anything go. You almost have to know them personally and even then they want stupid money for it.

Don't get me wrong, I have no interest in saving any of it. But I'd like to post the pics of all the stuff that's rotting into the ground around here.
I've already got the toys I want. Idaho market is full of delusional idiots. I do my buying in Portland and Seattle. It's worth the drive.

Exactly why I let my 53 belair go. After dozens of people stopped by my house asking if I'd sell it, and not having done any work to it in 2 or 3 years, I just couldn't let myself become "that guy"

Just finding this picture gets me kicking myself again. But this is the way I got it, and I think I was further ahead just starting over.

I had a '69 GTO with a mean 400. Had a sumped fuel tank, 1/2 inch fuel lines, a giant Holley electric fuel pump, 4.56 gears, drag shocks, etc. It was a pretty nice car in spite of someone trying to turn it into a dedicated drag car. I could have swapped gears to something good and made it back into something I would have liked to drive more but it was missing that certain something. I got rid of it because I didn't want to see it languish away on my watch. I enjoy Gbody cars more. I can't tell you why, it's a sickness.
