Just had it rebuilt, so Pretty I thought I'd do some advertisement for him. It runs like a scalded dog too!

Looks nice. 750 or 800 cfm? A lot of people seem to want the 76 electric choke Cadillacs & Buick Q-jets. They don't look as race as a square bore but its so nice to be able to set it & forget it and they drive better and get better mileage. A lot of people don't know that except for small displacement motors with cams that exceed 240 @ 50 duration you generally only lose about 5 HP at WOT to about 500HP. Naturally that is having both carberators tuned for the engine which does require a steeper learning curve or a pro for the Q-jet.

Yea. u pegged it. it is 800cfm from 1976 Buick.

Very nice :!:

I would love to run a Quadrajet someday, if I stick with a carbureted setup. The spreadbore design is an amazing design

I currectly have a couple of HOLLEY 650cfm spreadbore carburetors that I plan on messing with

I'm eagerly awaiting the time to rebuild mine too, but since the engine isn't even done.....

FWIW, this is an outstanding book if you want go beyond a basic rebuild. It has a ton of good info too.

it's impossible to tell until you open the air valve of the primaries to see if it's a 750 or 800. The 800 has a bulge on the wall and the booster ring is thinner....

This one is great too. Dated, but so is the Q-jet.
