on 350 with shorty headers and intake on it whats the best sized pipe,muffler and how to run it like straight out back or what...lookin for good sound and horsepower

I'm runnin 2 1/2 pipes with flowmasters and they are mounted right under the cab. The only problem is the previous owner welded them up to the stock exhaust manifolds! It's still got a good sound (no exhaust leaks) but I don't think they did a good job. When I get to that part I'm going to have turn downs right after the flowmasters. I don't have to do any of that smog crap, so I can be super loud and do what I want with the exhaust!
im really havin a prob with this...i want a louder more muscle sounding truck but for cheap....im lookin at glasspacks but not sure...im puttin it on a stock 350 and advice is greatly needed
Go with the inexpensive summit muffler. I think they're like $25 a piece, and a friend ran them on his 69' Charger with a 440 and 3 inch exhaust. That is one of the nicest sounding mufflers I've heard and I would compare them to flowmasters.
well i got some good sounding flowmaster knockoffs but i wanted a lil louder...im not sure what to do cause alot say glass is too loud and that may get annoying
Put a performance geared rearend in that car something like 3.42s or 3.73s and you will get tired of anything that doesn't sound stock on the freeway. I have a sb400 with full length headers 3" exhaust and it was way too loud so I put 2.25 tailpipes on it just to shut it up some. gonna get rid of this exhaust and go to some of those pypes racepro mufflers and an x pipe.houndin101 said:
i might change the gearing jus i dont want a gear too low or high....and imma run full length with 2.5 piping...your right 3 is too big...but muffler wise if its best too something not too bad on highway than i might stay with my local shops muffler or true flowmasters
