EZ EFI

Ridiculous, why wouldn't they have a plug n play distributor? I guess if you run a nice aggressive mechanical advance, it will work. I have 36 total in by 1500 rpm with my Mallory.

When I put the Fast on my car there was no such thing as the Atomic Efi. So that's what I had to use. We install the atomic for customers because of the no return. They say over this horsepower, this climate condition, yada yada yada that a return is needed. We have never needed one on any engine in anywhere in the country. I've put this on a 600hp Chevy 427 smallblock going to Canada and it runs perfect.

So how much better are either of these units over a properly tuned carb IYO? I'm sure they're better at least to some degree but how much is the question. Enough that if you had a nice carb setup you would still switch over in a heartbeat or not worth the money/effort for such little gain? I've always toyed with the idea of switching to EFI ( FAST or Atomic ), but feel it may not be worth the cost and aggrivation over my properly setup Qjet. It would be nice to eliminate my hot start/fuel boiling issues though. Todays gas sucks for carbs!

The atomic is capable to adjust its own timing. For that you need a mag distributor($300+), which they don't tell you until after you buy it and read the instructions, then you have to essentially take the guts out phase the rotor and wire it to the efi system. People have issues with that. But if you use a regular distributor it runs great.

That just seems silly. Epic fail on Atomic's part. Though I never looked too deeply into it, I was always under the impression one could just use a CCC carb. I guess not!

Check out Atomics instructions. It is a nice and simple system to put on. You can use any distributor and it will work, just it doesn't have the "timing tuning" capabilities.

The way I see is Fast is know for fuel injection and has been around for years doing it. MSD does ignitions and distributors and now just got into EFI. So they just got their feet wet with it. In not taking sides because they both put a good product and at work we never had any issues with them....Powerjection on the other hand. Don't even think about it. That is the biggest piece of sh*t.

Now I dont know anything about this system but it looks like the FAST.
