I am wondering what the point of this scam is pricing something well below market value in dozens of cities across the country and when you message them you get an instant response asking you to text them.
Here is a few of them

Not sure if it's to get a phone list, or, to send you some link that allows them to hack a device/account when you click on it.

So it looks like they are hacking accounts and using that persons profile to do the scam
I messaged one "How does this scam work?" and still got a generic response to text them.

Yeah, I've pretty much given up buying used parts. Between this facebook and fourms, I've been potentially scammed twice and one time the seller still hadn't moved on selling the parts for 3.5 weeks and then told me he didn't know I was in a rush. I'm done.

This is another instance of wtf from me. FB knows this is a scam and does nothing about it.

Very similar to the car warranty robocalls, or Medicare calls. This stuff is illegal, but we do nothing about it. By ‘we’ I’m implying the authorities or government. When one of these scammers is actually exposed nothing happens to them of any consequence.

I enjoy FB groups, but marketplace is almost unusable at times because of these type scams. I was looking for a car trailer over the summer, and could not get away from similar type scams.

I guess first you have to have a FB account...I don't have one, so that fixes a lot of FB scams on my end. I wonder how long it's going to take for people to figure out that FB does NOT, and NEVER DID, give a flying f**k about you, the person? They just sell your info to others.

As far as the phone calls, if not in my contact list or I don't recognize the number, I don't answer. Just leave a message and MAYBE I'll get back to you. If it's not important enough to leave a message, then it's not that important to me, either.

Although I still have "Home Depot" and "AT&T" keep sending me texts lately with links saying I've won a $100 gift card or some crap like that. DWOO (delete without opening).

What's Facebook? Never used it. Lol.
Damn kids.... Get off my lawn..

I have a Facebook account but use an alias so I can still interact with Facebook marketplace. My close family knows my alias but the psycho hose beasts from the past do not. So many people in my younger days I do not care to interact with. I don’t need the bad influences or to mess up my marriage.
