I agree, had a cheap one come apart at the track. Factory low performance V8 stall is around 1400 to 1800 rpm. I have heard good things about the Coan street convertor. I am probably going CK performance for mine since it is for a TH2004r.

I would do an internet search and read up about how a converter works. You should be able to find any and all info pertaining to converters/stall speeds. But just to get your brain going; a converter is always slipping. It slips alot below it's stall speed but once you reach it it still slips, just very little. The only time a converter doesn't have any slippage at all is when it's locked up ( if it's a transmission and converter with a lockup function ). A shitty converter will slip alot more than a quality one.
