I'll try and keep this short. Have a shitty situation unfolding and not sure what options i have...

Ordered appliances, told 7-10 days to get. 7 weeks later they show up, they had a tough time getting the stove for reasons they will not share. They get to the house, and the dishwasher was dented. We wanted the dishwasher most of all, so we agreed to take it and get a replacement door coming. The delivery guys dented the back of the fridge on the way up the stairs.... no big deal i guess, not cosmetic, and they tell me that even though it made contact with the motor, it won't be a problem. Delivery guys leave. We install the stove, unwrap it, only to find another dent much like the one in the dishwasher door (tie straps too tight on the truck, obviously.) Here's where it gets complicated. We use the stove, expecting the same deal as the dishwasher. HOWEVER... the next day, we realise that this isn't even the stove we were shown in the store. It's a lesser model that looks almost identical. To make things worse, I check my receipt, and they billed us for the one we received, NOT the one we were shown in the store. NO WONDER he got us such a good price on it! This is where I get mad, cuz we waited almost 2 months for the wrong ****ing stove, and I know this is gonna be a problem. I gave them my demands: I want the stove we saw in the store, and I'm willing to pay the difference; I want my dishwasher door installed by a qualified LG service tech so my warranty is still good, I want extended warranty on the fridge just in case the motor does calve, and I want my $150 delivery fee refunded because i had to help their goons every step of the way (long story there but these guys obviously had never moved a fridge in their life.)

After another 2 weeks of waiting, they came back with "we have ordered you a door for your stove, and are going to give you $150 store credit." I told them "No, do better."

Waiting to hear from them today, probably going to BBB to hopefully resolve this. Any other ideas?

Ugh, not what I wanted to hear. We just bought appliances on black Friday and aren't having them delivered until January.

Had the same problem when I ordered my cabinets while I was renovating my kitchen. Paid 17K for cabinets, and they get delivered and sink cabinet was completely destroyed in delivery the guy tried to prop it up against another box like I wouldnt notice!!! store tried to tell me it would be 2 months before they can make another one. i went ballistic
they messed up on one of the pantry cabinets, and forgot the kickplates.

stores suck!
Hope your situation gets straightened out

Being you're north of the border, afraid there's little that I could offer to help you.

Did you make any notes about damage on the papers I assume they asked you to sign at delivery?

Your contracts probably control more than anything else, just really not sure how close Canada follows the UCC (uniform commercial code) in cases like this.

One word of warning: you are upset, and, understandably so. But, if in expressing your displeasure it comes across too strongly, people at the company aren't going to go out of their way to help you.

Not sure what kinda outfit you bought at, but if it wasn't a mom and pop operation the person who is going to try to make good will not have a personal financial stake in things and, if approached properly, may be wore willing to make concessions.

Also, these things are expensive and I don't know the ins and outs of policies, but, homeowners might cover the damage to the appliances and then subrogate a claim against the delivery service... I meam, you're saying some were damaged in the home...

Look close at delivery.

I got a KitchenAid 30" convection double oven set up. I think it was kode500ess.

Long story short, the sheetmetal sides showed up dented 3 times. They don't package them well on pallets anymore, so, when they were lifting/moving on trucks and in warehouses they kept bending and distorting the shell.

I sent every one back and refused to sign for them. Finally #4 showed up safe and sound.

7-10 days and you waited 7 weeks???

Shame on you, you should have canceled and went elsewhere.

You paid for it

You inspected it.

You signed for it

It's yours

Not one thing that you can "DEMAND" from the store.

You are lucky the offered you what they did.

If anything I would go back to the store and TALK to the manager in person.
