final suspension input needed

Looks great- I'd like a slight rake- I was thinking 275/295 60's out back, 225 60 or 70 in front.. BFG radials- think that's too tall?

A 275/60R15 is a good size tire for the rear, I recently bought a set of Cooper GT 275/60R15 and put them on 15 x8 rims and they look really good and I only paid $90 a piece from Discount Tire, I also bought Coopers 235/60 for the fronts and this set will go on my 86' Regal as soon as I am done rebuilding the suspension and brakes.
These 275/60 are approx.. 27.5" - 28" tall and have a nice beefy tread, I was very impressed for the money.

Thanks- I think that series will look good and still have a slight rake with the 275/235 rear-front combo. Any recommendations on springs/ manufacturers? I was figuring Moog since I'll probably use their stuff elsewhere?

If you are going for stock height the Moog replacement springs will work fine, I have found some Summit brand springs on their site that just happen to have Moog parts numbers but for less money. The rear springs on my Regal are Summit brand.
I have Moog on the front of my Monte and UMI 2" drop rear springs on the back.

Well- I'd like to drop the car, have the rake, etc.. Any ideas with how much drop front and rear this tire setup will allow? Would it be 1" rear, 2" up front? Maybe the moog site will provide it-- thanks for all the help!

The Moog site was very informative for me picking out the front springs for my Regal since the front sat a little too high with factory springs for V8 with A/C I stepped down two sizes doing a spec comparison of what I have so basically now I have V6 with A/C front springs which should give me some drop, they were around 5/8" shorter than the factory springs side by side with the same spring rate and diameter.
There are plenty of springs on their site to put 1-2" + drop but I was playing on the safe side since I do not want to keep changing front springs.

Ok guys, motor and trans out of frame. Before I take the suspension off, I'm going to weld that bar across the back frame. Then, we're going to notch/weld frame and brace that area as well. I'm not sure where you guys say to weld a stabilizer bar across that area, though? It makes sense to do that, I've bought the 1" square tubing for the back of frame, same for the notched area? Thanks!

This is the same picture I posted on the previous page but I will explain the bars, the closest horizontal bar I welded near the end of the rear frame rails before where the supports bolt on and the other bar above the rearend with the tailpipes mounted to it is the bar that I welded across the frame rails, it was as high as I could get it and still get a 360 weld on since I did the roll bar probably 5 years prior to doing my frame notch I could not remove the body from the frame to do the notch.
All of cage and the tubing in the back of my car is 1-3/4" x .134 thick roll bar tubing

Ok, that's makes sense. I'm using 1" square tubing at least on the very back, I'll see about larger round tubing for where the notching will be. Assume you have a custom exhaust? I haven't checked for systems yet like flowmaster, etc and hope the notch bracing won't interfere. On that topic, whose headers would you recommend? I'll probably be buying a crate 383 or 406. Looks also like spohn has the trans crossmember for true dual exhaust clearance? Thanks for all the help... I'd like to get this all welded in before the whole thing gets sent out for powder coating.

For my cutlass with a sbc, no ac I used QA1 front coilovers, single adjustable with 450# springs. They give a 2" drop and a really good ride. They are rebuildable and re-valveable as well. QA1 have a line of circle track shocks as well so authorized service shops should be pretty easy to locate.
I went with them so I didn't have to deal with installing and removing stock type springs half a dozen times to get the ride height right. And performance springs that advertise a 2"drop are pricey.
