Nice work on the car with the new engine. But stock valve is a bad idea in a BBC with any cam that is not stock you should use SS valves along with bronze valve guides to help not to drop a valve.BBC engine are bad for dropping stock valves with a performance cams, the valve sticks in the cast iron guides and the piston smash the valve and cracks off the top.
yeah i know..... somewhere down the road i will have them cut for bigger valves. probably this winter when i do a 468 ci bbc.... thanks for the info larryo454
I have a bbc 454 in my 84 cutlass too I used hooker super comp headers did u have a problem with them leaking on driver side where the two pipes meet in the header? and also where are you from?
yes i got a problem with both of them leaking i used the red i high temp permatex and i am going to weld the passenger side 3 separate pipes together. i got to try to find i solution to the driver side. i am from ohio u?

Im from new jersey I dont have any problems with the passenger side just the driver side leaks i was gonna try to expand the one pipe a lil bit to get it to fit better or use a muffler wrap to create a tighter seal
