Anyone ever replaced the full firewall on there g-body before? If so have any advice on it as far as bracing the body and any other hiccups i may run into? I plan on starting the replacement on my grand national very soon. Already have the new one removed and ready to go, also have a complete new floor pan I’ll be installing in the car also. The firewall in this car is junk, completely rusted out on the drivers side

I'd say brace both door frames, atleast two cross brace between both door frames close to the firewall, brace both T-top openings, if the cowl/windsheild base is being saved brace it to the one cross brace between the doors.

I did this quick little sketch the green marks is what I’m thinking as far as bracing for the floor and firewall replacement. What do you think? Would this be sufficient or should I add more? The windshield cross brace that runs from the driver to passenger side is being replaced also due to water sitting in the channel

I'd either X the T-top openning or keep that cross brace & run one from the A to B pillar. With the cowl/windshield base being replace. run an angled brace on each side from the center of the brace that'll be by the cowl to the bottom front of of the door brace.

Pretty much build a roll bar inside the car to keep it from flexing.

Once it flexes and you weld it, it's start over or toss it

Bracing vertically horizontally, diagonally

This way that way all over the place

I think you should get the factory manuals. They have the body dimensions called out. Then you can tack it all together and check it before you get way in there and find out you have a problem.

If I was to attempt this, I think I would build a "cube" lkke strucure inside the cab with diangle bars going from too to bottom oppisite corners

That wouldn’t be to difficult to tack in I just don’t want it to become a twisted mess. The firewall is what concerns me the most.
