I know I’m no trippin Aren’t hoses suppse to be connected ? Anyone ? 87 regal

Yes, they should be, if you want heat during the colder months as well.

The engine will run fine without it, but when you get a chance, spray the inlet with some hot water and see if it holds water and if so, check how clean it comes from the outlet 😎👌👌👌

To add to the above post. When the heater core is bypassed like that odds are the heater core was leaking into the cabin and they didn't know how or didn't want to do the work to change the heater core.

They did say the heater core was no good .
For laughs anyone ever have there corr clog up with rust stop leak ect and actually pour toilet bowl cleaner into the core with hoses off let it sit then flush it out with water befor ressemble
