Yea clean got it. The 5658 ride height is supposed to be 1/4" lower than the stock original ride height.

if you're looking for a firmer suspension cornering with relativity soft springs you'll need a big bar.

I thnk I'm going to replac them with moog 5662 front springs from spohn

Not a fan of cheap shocks. But see no need for high dollar specialty shocks either at least not for a driver. Bilsteins or Edelbrock ISAs. Quality you will feel and that will last. Money well spent IMO.

Replace your worn out mushy or missing rubber end links. Autoparts store Polys are a great bang for the buck.

The Gbody "F41" sway bars ie thicker front bar plus a rear bar. I have an extra set as does many on here for cheap.

The factory springs are stupid soft and Moog spring are inexpensive but having them put in is not. So I would do the other three first and see if you are satisfied with the upgrades.

Stock springs have a pillow soft spring rate of 346 pounds per inch
GN, Ttype, 442, MCSS better 420 ppi
Moog 5658 much firmer 579 ppi
Moog 5660 firm but not harsh or bouncy 639 ppi
Naturally you get the corresponding rear spring to go with the front spring of choice.

Some excellent advice in this post. Also I noticed that the chassis bracing "jounce" bars makes a huge different in the front. Also, I got Monroe Sensatracs, they were okay for a daily but not that still. I would recommend them only if you dont have any better options.

Yes guys all good advice. I went with monroe sensatracs all the way around. Which firmed up the rear nicely. The care has the f41 package from factory, so it's got all the sway bars, jounce and radiator x braces already. I will try new coils in the front as my next quest to lessen the wallowing in the front. Awesome info here as usual

Once I get the front end complete, the next quest it 373s in the rear to give me some oomph in town. The care still runs the original tall 2.56s

fwiw the sensatracks will wear out quick with the stiff 5662s. Not a bad spring choice just keep in mind that its over 200% stiffer than the factory spring and with only sensatracks it may turn bouncy in 10,000 miles. Then again many only put on 2,000 miles a year as a weekend driver in the summer.

Inexpensive springs are an expensive install at shop rates. Quality shocks are an easy self install and are what most people need much more so than springs. I always find it humorous when the average person blames the springs when the shocks allow the car to become bouncy.

agreed. mine are two years old and need replacing. my mistake.

I started with the shocks cause they were an easy DIY fix, they improved things, just not to the stiffness I would like. The car doesn't bounce, it just feels too soft for my preference,,,,,,,,,remember I came from a 96 firebird formula so in my fun sundae driver I want some sport handling...plus it surprises a lot of people to see a gbody handle so well

What's a good set of rear coils? I still have the stock set up but I bought the moot 5660 for the front (not installed) and I need a set for the rear. Still has stock air shock set up in rear for 79 elky
