So I pulled the cluster back out and tightened all the nuts behind the gauges, lightly skuffed the terminal on the plug, and pulled the guages out of their ports and gave the keepers a squeeze. The voltage gauge is reading properly and fuel guage is reading same as the sweep cluster did. Look like another step finished.

So today I pulled front coil springs and cut 1 1/2 inch out for a 3" drop at the fender. I used to have the air shocks maxed out to be level and looked like a off road vehicle. Now it's low. Bare minimum of air in the shocks

With the forums help I got the clips sorted out for installing the chrome on my rear window. I trimmed the excess urethane out of the channel and drilled holes for the screw in t studs. I put twelve clips around the top, and six across the bottom attached to the filler. It looks like the filler had notches for the clips and could have had eight but six held it fine.

So I located a stock hood and went and picked it up and got it installed for a temporary fix. I took the car and had the alignment done since I cut the springs and changed the gearbox . I have two issues I need some ideas on
1. Brand new quadrajet with the style choke to work with the hot air tubes. Identical to the carburator that came on this Chevy 350. Run great , idles great when warm but floods easy when starting cold and the high idle is not kicking it up on first start. Would that be a choke adjustment? This carb was supposed to come pre adjusted to be ready to go. I don't know much about quadrajet carburators.
2. At 55 on the highway I get a vibration through the floor of the car. Not in the steering wheel or anything in the front. Shakes the rear view mirror bad. It doesn't start until right about 55. And goes away when I slow down. Could bad u joint in driveshaft cause a vibration at speed. Or would that be in the rear end.? I am running a driveshaft from a Monte ss that was bigger diameter than a Cutlass shaft. And I have a Cutlass shaft available if I should go back to it. But it is rusted up bad and need sandblasted and new u joints for Sure. I did not change u joint in the Monte driveshaft since they felt fine.

I wanted to take the car for a quick ride before or next week of rain hits and driving down a country road I hear something hit the bottom of the car and a crunch . Well wtf my grill fell off and I run it over. The screws on the top broke out of the brittle plastic. On more part for my money pit to start searching for

Ok I'm thinking this thing might have to go back to storage for Abit while my patience come back. I went to storage drove the car to the house speedometer works fine. Jack it up, pull driveshaft, Change both u joints. Back it back out of the garage for the test drive. Boom no speedometer. Fix the the vibration. But I can't get ahead here lately enough to even enjoy it. Fix one thing and another thing quits. I tried to make sure this didn't happen with new gears in the transmission and a new cable.
On a side note I bought a plastic welder and fixed my grill that I run over and if your over 4-5ft away you can't tell

Started body work this week. I have to change the rear bumper and posted a separate post with some questions about that, and the dulled flat paint hid a lot of small dings and dents. I used a hand longboard with 180 grit to crosshatch the whole body so the damages would show up and found some rust on bottom corners of the door that was worse than it looked.
I also broke the speednut for the fender bolt that goes up from bottom at the rear, that now just spins. If anyone has a trick to get that out I would appreciate it. I was planning on using a cutting wheel and slowly get the head off and put a new bolt and speed nut on.
