Since im still waiting on backordered headers and exhaust parts i ordered my new kilduff lightning rod shifter. Now for some good weather to get it put in and mod the console.

I found a pic online of a monte console with this shifter in it and since that is what i have in my car it gives me an idea of what it will look like but ill post when mine is installed

Got the shifter installed today. Because of the shifter mount i had welded in i had to shim the console up a bit to make it look right . Back up lights are hooked up and functional. Cable is adjusted. I need to get some small gauge wire to run for the led light in the indicator still.

I also heard back from holley, the the flowtech afterburner headers are not discontinued just severly backordered for materials.so some day the new exhaust will still happen.

i realized also today that if i ever get an actual cutlass console I'll have to cut my shifter mount out. I found nice regal console but it is flat not raised for an armrest area.

For recoloring the front seat material, pay a visit to an upholstery shop that does house furniture. They might be able to direct you to a supplier that handles fabric dye. I do not suggest fabric dye in a spray bomb. It could cause the material to go stiff and bristly.

My headers finally came in. Flowtech afterburners with the high heat powder coating. Took 6 months to get. These things are built heavy duty compared to the old headers i have now. And the aim straighr back not angling out at the collector. Now i need to decide duals or x pipe so i know what inlet/outlet muffler configuration to order.

Not sure if you knew, and it's first time since you posted a ways back it clicked in my head skimming to the update post, but....

You know that a regal console uses the same bottom half and general level for the shifter plate as the cutlass one right?

You could do the busy work of brackets and geometry to install with a regal console and then just swap in the top 1" (I guess more if you count armrest) onto it when you found a nice top half later...

I finally got my headers installed. The g force crossmember and new x pipe exhaust. Magnaflow straight through stainless mufflers, stainless tips, . Sounds great and the exhaust guy did a great job..
im glad to have access to my oil filter and starter as the old headers tucked in and surrounded the starter and the drivers side went directly under the filter making oil changes a mess.

Flowtech afterburner headers both went in from the top.. on the passenger side i had to add a little clearance where the upper control arm pivots and rubbed as suspenion moved. G force crossmember went up tight. I never removed the old heat shield and it pressed against it. My new body mounts last fall made a huge difference, woulnt have went 8n otherwise.
They sound good going down the road and idling.

So my rebuilt rear end with 3.42 posi from quick performance is in. We swapped my bad rear end out with the rebuilt one and It is back on the road.

I filled it up and added the posi additive, took a 10 minut lap around town, brought it back and had to add about 1/2 quart more gear lube. Decided to let it cool and this afternoon took it on about 10 minutes around town then 20 minutes out on the highway and back. No strange sounds or actions so i say success!!

I do have a question on temps. After 20 minutes at 55 and coming home what temperature should the rear end be. I was touching all the bearing spots feeling for heat in case something was wrong and you could hold your hand everywhere but the aluminum cover was pretty warm. Never checked a rear end for temp before. Does this sound about right.
Thanks

I changed my stock intake and quadrajet for a square bore dual plane intake. New summit 600 carb and Accel hei distributor. The carb says it is wet flow set and should not need adjusted other than choke and idle. I have to get a different air cleaner base as my hood wont shut at the moment. Test time later this week
I found some marks in the intake runners which lead me to believe someone had gasket matched and smoothed these heads at some point in time
