Ok this is what i have new 350 366hp,350 turbo 2200 stall, stock rear 229 7.5, did first road test yesterday headed to school ,she starts right up no problem timing set to the dyno papers of 0, takes off from the light with a good tire chirp but after that im not getting the goooo i was expecting ,carb is a carter 625

with a 2.29 rear end you should be headed to the salt flats for a top speed test.... 🙂

I had 2.29s or 2.41s in my monte carlo and it felt sluggish everywhere below 50 mph. I swapped in a 3.73 posi and it's like a completely different car! Those high gears can hurt you, trust me. I thing with your setup a good 3.08 gear would work wonders, and still have plenty of driveability.

yes the gear would hurt you but what is this you say about timing set to 0? im confused why your timing would be set to 0 degrees BTDC.

^^^This, It's too retarded (the timing  ) . With that much engine you should get more than just a chirp off the line even with 229's, even with 2.41's my lesser engined car would fog the tire through 1st (one wheel wonder peel).

Hum i just went with what is said on the dyno papers for timing what do you guys have timing set .

Give us a bit more info on exactly what you got. 366 hp 350 with timing at 0 is pretty vague to say the least. Is this a Chevy 350? How was the horsepower measured? What are the detailed engine specs? What's your total timing at when is it all in by?

Yeah, your gears are killing you, especially if the engine was built to make good top end at the exspense of low end torque. I'm sure your converter isn't helping matters any either.

Thanks guys ill post the papers i got with it latter on tonight at school taking my welding class right now and yea its a 350 i think it top rpm was 5500 at 366hp if that helps any ,i was meaning to post all the papers anyway .

Did you have someone build the motor for you and install it, or did they just Dyno it?
