Flat Tappet Cam Break-in

Everyone doesn't like a big flat tappet cam because of the break-in with the center spring having to be removed and then installing them after you do the run-in. Yes it is some what of a pain but really not that bad. I just installed a new cam in the car, ran the run-in and in the process of installing the center springs when I decided to shot a little video to show it's not hard. I did fail to say in the vid that I don't use any air pressure or anything to hold the valve up, the positive valve guide seal does that.
 
I agree with the right tools it’s not that bad. I was changing shims on my Nextek springs with 300 on the seat and pushing 780 open using that moroso tool. I had to reinforce the fingers to keep them from bending.
 
How much harder was it doing this back when the AC case was still in there?
