Floor Jack Brand Advice?

Thanks for all the advice guys. I've heard a ton about the harbor freight jacks being good, but the fact that they only have a 90 day warranty worries me. Plus I've never heard of any of the brands they sell. I thought about rebuilding the one I have, but I don't have any experience and it's older so parts are a little are to find. Probably not worth my time. I'm staying away from craftsman this time around. I've read more negative than positive reviews and I never used mine that much anyways. It shouldn't have failed already. What brand of harbor freight jacks do you guys have?

Ive got one of the orange harbor freight jacks. Had it for about 7 years now. Been through a flood and under 10ft of water. Thing has never let me down! I use the hell out of it!!

as much as i hate shopping at china freight i cant say anything bad about their jacks, especially for the price. i have a personal steel jack that i bought 2 years ago (believe its a 3 ton) and havnt had issues. I have used the aluminum at work for 2 1/2 years under moderate use on border patrol vehicles and have never had a problem. with a coupon you can get a steel jack for under $80.

I wore out a HF 3 ton jack and wouldn't buy another. I now have a Sears 3 ton that is holding up fine, although I suspect it is made in China too. My advice is whatever you choose, get at least a 3 ton version for stability. Our cars are heavy!

I went thru two of the Craftsman 3.5 ton low profile aluminum jacks befor eI gave up on Craftsman. They both leaked down after only a few uses. What junk.

15 years ago I got a Craftsman steel 3 ton unit that la still working today. Tells you something about the state of manufacturing back then and now.

Anyhow, I have moved on from the Craftsman brand. I now use an Arcan 3 ton aluminum low profile unit I got from Northern Tool.

It is light, low profile, high lift, 3 ton capacity, and lets off easy. Great Jack.

another vote here for the HF racing jacks.. 2+ years now, no problems whatsoever.

I bought a HF jack and have had it for a few years now. I just needed a jack at the time. I havent had a problem yet. It actually has lasted me longer then the craftsman one i had years ago.

If your going under the car always put a jack stand under the car. Even if its just placed there. When the car slams down its better it slams down on a jack stand then you.
