I HAVE AN 82 CUTLASS WITH A COLUMN SHIFTER..IF I INSTALLED A FLOOR SHIFTER WOULD MY SHIFTS BE TIGHT? WOULD THE GEAR SHIFT RIGHT AWAY? DO I HAVE TO INSTALL A SHIFT KIT TO GET MY TIRES TO CHIRP AT SHIFT POINTS?

CAPS LOCK OFF PLEASE!!!!!!!

Second, the shifter on an automatic does not determine how fast the transmission shifts. That is usually done by altering the valve body and the apply servos. For example, my trans will bark second with a column shifter.
