So there was a thread last week where a member asked about body mounts. I posted in the thread about replacing mine and got a lot of great responses and helpful information. Thanks to everyone that shared their input! Anyway, quite a few members mentioned PB Blaster. I have and still do use it. There’s another product out there called Fluid Film. I find myself reaching for it more often than the Blaster. It works great for a penetrant and also a lubricant. To my surprise, all of my body bolts came loose except for 3. I sprayed them with Fluid Film and within a half hour 2 of the 3 were out. Now I have not tried the third again since yesterday but I gave it another spray and will try again when I have time. Anyway I have had great results with this stuff for many other rusted and frozen parts. Any of you use this?

I dont use it as a penetrating fluid but I undercoat my truck and my tractor with it to keep the rust at bay. Honestly it's one of my favorite products out there. It smells like a sheep's *ss but it undoubtedly works.

I use a similar product for undercoating my Crown Vic. Fluid Film and other wool wax coating are meant to be used as a rust protection coating, not a rust buster.

Fluid Film is a great product, actually not made as a penetrating fluid but more as a rust protector.
I personally like to use Sea Foam deep creep for penetrating fluid.
both great products!

Never heard of it.

I typically have PB Blaster on hand, but if I have Seafoam's Deep Creep on hand I tend to reach for it first.

I like PB Blaster because it's cheap. Seafoam Deep Creep is good stuff too, I'm just too cheap to pay for it. Fluid film does advertise their aerosol version as a penetrating fluid, but it's too thick to be really effective IMO. Its still better than nothing. The non aerosol version (NAS) in the one you want for undercoating. Spray it out of a Schutz gun. If it's too thick for the gun, you can heat it up on a hot plate (do it outside, it smells like *ss) and that'll thin it down.
