Beautiful Hurst Olds! Funny about the SS comment, just yesterday, my brother in law saw a picture of the 81 Cutlass I am buying and he asked if it was a Monte SS- Hee hee- I guess to the not so knowledgable eye, they all look 'the same' LOL

Welcome to the forum! I am a newbie here as well, and my wonderful wife let me buy an Olds Cutlass project car after selling my 9 year project hotrod truck instead of insisting we use all the money elsewhere 🙂 She kept telling me not to sell the truck because I would never be able to replace it if I used all the money on the House/Bills/etc. But I found my car cheap, so after selling my truck, paying for the car, I am skimming a little over $1000 off the sale of the truck to put back into the car, and the rest will go to try to get us out of debt. (I know being responsible, eh?) LOL

I appreciate the compliment brother. As for the identity crisis, I just don't understand why folks can't tell these G-bodies apart. I am just gonna start saying I have a black car 🙂

One nice olds man.

Thanks for the compliment and I am sorry I haven't gotten around to posting my thread yet. I have a major honey-do I am trying to get completed, and it is taking all my time 🙂.

As for my plans, I am a huge fan of the Pro-Touring movement. I love the idea of having BIG power, BIG brakes, BIG wheels/tires, and WORLD CLASS handling . . . all with yesterday's looks. I have purchased a wrecked Z28 ('98 model) that the previous owner swapped an LQ4 into. The car also has a 3500 stall and some other minor bolt-ons. I have already purchased a BRP LS Swap Kit for the swap; as well as an '87 GN fuel tank (dog dish baffle) and sending unit. For the pump, I have purchased a Racetronix G77 kit with the hot wire upgrade. I also have a Moser 9" for the G-Body w/ Strange 35 spline axles (looking to run there Wavetrac differential). Bolt currently sits in 3 pieces and has been in this sad state since 04/2011 🙁. My wife has a 2011 Kona Blue 5.0 Vert (we call her Tinkerbell) and I have been putting all my time and resources into her Pony.

At this time, Bolt sits with gutless (motor and transmission removed) and his front cap has been set aside to make the install less tedious. As soon as I can score a Holley LS Oil Pan, I will be pulling the LQ4 and moving forward with my build 🙂

NICE!!! kinda what i'm doing for my GP with just the stock 5.7... I have a line on a 6.0 out of a 04 Escalade but seeing as i haven't even got my 5.7 running yet i am holding back for now.."Bolt" will run again, gotta make the wifey happy! I will keep an eye out on your build!
