In your post, you said that if it wasn't for Olds, chevy wouldn't have a V-8 as we know it. I agree with that statement!
Just thought you'd like to hear an FYI tid-bit.
In 1917-18 Chevy built a short-live 90-degree V-8 engine.It had vertical valves and detachable cross-flow cylinder heads. Bore/strokewas 3.375 x 4.00, for a displacement of 288 cubic inches and 55 horses. Only 6350 (some say less) were produced. Not until 1955 would Chevy build another V-8. [ 100 Years of the American Auto....By James M. Flammang and the Auto Editors of Consumer Guide ] Book was a birthday gift from my wife 😀 !
