Replied on other thread before i saw this. You're not missing out on Safelite, their glass is terrible. I've had 2, both had distortions in them and one cracked in less than a year, with no other damge (chips, scratches, rock strikes, etc)
I've never used them but heard nothing but bad things about them and their inability to install their low quality windshields correctly, especially ones containing any electrical components (antenna, OnStar, etc).

I had Safelite put a windshield in a 90 Bonneville a few years back. No issues and was in stock.

Yes their glass is "soft" ...cracks and chips easy, but keeps you legal and you can see through it.
