I've got some RC stuff around, haven't run them in a year or two. I've got an HPI Baja 5b with a zenoah 29cc engine, dominator pipe, and walbro race carb. Two nitro Traxxas T-maxx trucks, one my dad gave my for Christmas when I was like 12 in I dunno 2000 I guess, maybe 2001 has an old school Traxxas "Pro .15" on it, the other has a big block conversion chassis, had a Picco .26 in it. I've also got a Revo 3.3 with a big block conversion with a Kyosho .25 on it, that's a cool one.

Have an original Traxxas "nitro buggy" from the early 90's and a nitro 4 Tec from when they first came out too but I haven't run those in many years.

Pretty cool there Rick. Yea , I gotta get back into the in's & out's of this stuff that people like you know. By nature i'm kinda gentle aggressive on stuff, which tremendously helps lifespan. I got a couple of IR guns at work , so I guess just like with other things, checking heat everytime initially will let me know how I'm treating it. Gotta get used to all these battery charger functions & battery care too. Takes a little time , attention, & planning just to care for charging a battery now. I'm assuming the speed controllers & some other stuff could be somewhat universally swapped , where gearboxes & some of those type parts will be specific to my model & aren't always listed in stock on website. I guess biggest thing is don't smash into anything at speed with a 40 plus mph 1/7 scale mini monster.
I got this thing for a release from other things in life & barely got around to using yet, but will get into it sometime. No telling when I can carve a body to mold a plastic body on, but that would bring it to next level & be cool as **** at car shows with the real thing.
Any other tips you can spit out would be cool to bring me up to date. 🤔

Yes most electronics are fully interchangeable to whatever fits your needs. And mechanical parts are pretty kit specific. Most name brands you can find parts for at everywhere from your local hobby shop to online you name it. For your brand, it might be online specific to one or two vendors. Try to find an exploded view parts diagram and that way you can Google specific parts you need and look for them. You can PM me with any questions or issues you run into. Biggest things I would throw at you is be careful with your lipos, never charge them unattended. Best to leave them when not in use at a storage charge and make sure you have a low voltage detection cut off on your ESC turned on. This will prevent over discharging your packs which makes them unstable and could ruin them or worse. If you dont have a LV cut off...just run a voltage reader w alarm on your balancing plug. Lastly store them somewhere safe that heaven forbid if one lets go, you dont lose your home to a fire. Lipos are nothing like the old Nimh we used to run. These things pack a ton of stored energy and are amazing when handled correctly. I have been blessed...even on my 12s lipo setups on my big RC helicopters to have never had a Lipo issue. I am overly careful though.

What are they retailing that grand national kit for?

The GN is just a body. Looks like Jconcepts has it listed for $51 bucks...will probably be a couple bucks cheaper on other sites in a couple weeks. People are home building no prep drag cars that this would go on. However, due to it being so mainstream and blowing up...for folks who are not as RC or tech savvy, Team Associated just released a Ready to Run drag car goes for $319-$375 depending on your need for a lipo. It just released and is selling like crazy. They will be more abundantly available in a few weeks due to being so new now. Here is a link to it:

Thanks Rick, I got a more expensive charger to properly handle those expensive batteries. sounded to me like a lot of people saying lipo's weren't lasting was their own damn fault. Got them in outside shed, but figured on getting or making metal box to keep charger and batteries in.

I went through spells of big fast electric monster truck savage flux regular size and a 5th scale conversion, brushless 10th scale traxxas slash, rustler, etc. But i got rid of them and went to crawling and rock racing. I dont break stuff as often and have more challenges. Axial wraith and bomber brushless with lights, switchable brakes. I do miss some speed runs though

Funny, I blew the dust off my Revo a few days ago and am putting together a list to get it running again and to complete the 3.3 swap. I bought an early 2.5 short chassis when they first came out.
