I've been looking for one of these for a couple of years and drove down to Indianapolis yesterday to look at one that this 85 year old gentleman(Smitty) had. Happy to say I came home with it.

Tell us a little something about it. To be honest, I don't even know what it is, but I'm interested to learn something about it.

Why can't I find the smart-*ss emoji?

Simple - post a pic of yourself😀

I'm just wondering your reason for looking for that car. Was it a member of your family who had one years ago? I hope you don't mind me asking

Kinda always wanted a Model A no one in my family ever had one. Love going to Henry Ford Greenfield Village with the grand kids and riding around in the old cars. Now we will be able to go to the Old Car Festival and participate. The downside of the Model A is I didn't want a trailer queen and when I learned about the Shay with the late model drive train it seemed like a car I could enjoy and drive anywhere. It does have side curtains and heat in it and you could even get AC in one(this one doesn't). It only has 13,600 miles on it and I plan on adding a lot more. I wander how it would look on the Power Tour. The wife likes it - big plus!

So, the Shay is a later custom built car with later drivetrain, kind of like an Excaliber or something in that class. That's why I guess I never heard of one before, until recently.
I guess it's kinda like a resto-rod.

That is sweet! Great catch.

Not that I'm still pissed at Barrett Jackson or anything :rant:but if anyone ever sees this adorable truck buzzing around, tell the owner I still wanna buy it.

I would almost, highlight almost, trade my SS for a Model A truck. My Grandpa (died pre WWll), had a trucking business in the early 30's, using model A trucks in his small German village. His trucks made the pickup of fresh milk from the farmers to the dairy much quicker than the horse and wagon. My Dad met the dairy owner again here in Canada where he had established Reid's Dairy(Quickerts). The Canadian members here will recognize the dairy.
My Grandmother continued the business until the 2 trucks were confiscated for war duties. The trucks were to be returned after the war. They didn't survive past the Russian Front.
