I am repairing the body-frame mount holes in my frame. the original diameter for the hole appears to be 1.5 inch (the same as a 1 3/8" uss flat washer) Gbody parts sells a repair washer for 8 bucks, but the fastenal store sells the flat washer for 1.25 is there a reason to use gbodyparts washer? I know they advertise and support the forum but.....

Biggest thing to check I would think besides the hole dimensions is the actual thickness of the washer.

I bought a frame repair washer kit years ago from OPGI for the '64-'72 Cutlass. This was before anyone offered them for the G-body. I think the washers were around 1/8"-3/16" thick.

I used 14 gauge sheet metal and made my own plates by drilling a 1.5" hole and forming the plate for each position.

I did the same as pontiacgp for my monte. Very cheep and easy and are holding up fine

the reason I used the 14 gauge is that it's the same thickness as the original frame material. I welded the pieces in place and if you plan to do that get a stick welder. I cleaned up the areas as best I could and it was impossible to lay down a good bead with a mig welder. I also upgraded the factory welds on the frame itself...

I had to order the washers from the local nut and bolt store they are .188 thick i.50 hole 3. something o.d. and 39 cents apiece. seemed like the way to go
