I'm new here, but maybe you people can save me some time....

I have a n '82 Pontiac Grand Prix that I am throwing together on a budget...the engine is an Olds 307 i got from an '84 Park Ave. (big car...A-Body, i think)...I am also using the 2004R transmission from the buick...hence my problem. I need a crossmember to fit this set-up...did any of the g-bodies come stock with a 307 and 2004r? If so...what year?

Yes, some oldsmobiles came with the 307/200-4r combo but they were all newer. The transmission mount on the 200-4r sets back way farther that the stock transmission from your car. You can get the 200-4r trans crossmember but what you will run in to is that the frame will not have a factory "extension" where the 200-4r crossmember bolts in. You can fabricate the extension or if you know of someone that will cut up a frame you can weld the extension in to your car and use a factory crossmember.

This seller on Ebay sells lightweight crossmembers and will make one for your application.[/url]

Don't forget! You can buy that crossmember from Jeg's as well!!

Good luck!
